Help Make Our Dreams A Reality!

For the last 3 years, a group of dedicated individuals have been working to bring a new Boys and Girls Club facility to Alice. Our current building has served the area's youth for 45 years and is in need of replacement to accommodate our growing needs. We have already raised a significant amount of money toward our goal and have purchased five acres of land located on Texas Blvd. to make the Club centrally located and more accessible.

Please look around our "virtual" tour of the new Boys and Girls Club!

Main Clubhouse
Visually strong and striking, the exterior of the main building will be constructed of steel with metal siding and a brick front. A portico arch over the twin double doors, serving to shield children and adults from the sun and rain, will also frame the logo of the Boys and Girls Club of Alice and the sponsor's name. Interior walls of cinderblock, painted with a high-gloss enamel, will reduce the cost of maintenance. The solid walls will be energy efficient, which will also reduce the cost of heating and cooling bills. Floors in the building will be attractively stained concrete, except in the gym area, which will be made of Sport Court.

The main building will consist of a large Game Room, Tech Center, Community Enrichment Center, Teen Center, two Learning Centers, an Arts and Craft Room, Kitchen/Dining area, Check-in area and an attached gymnasium.

[Game Room - Boys & Girls Club, Alice, Texas]GAME ROOM
Boys and girls can learn a new game or play a preferred favorite in this spacious game room. This popular area will feature pool tables, ping pong tables, foosball tables and lots of room to play. This safe, kid friendly zone offers a supervised and constructive alternative for free-time fun.

TECH CENTER
Equipped with modern technology, computers with internet access will enhance children's computer skills and allow them to do research for school assignments, helping them succeed in school.

[Community Enrichment Center]COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT CENTER
This spacious room will be used for a variety of activities. It will serve as an area where large groups of boys and girls can gather to hear presentations regarding drug and alcohol prevention, how to avoid gang activities, dance classes, aerobic classes, special educational presentations, etc. The room will also be used for board meetings and will be available for use by other organizations in the community.

TEEN CENTER
Older kids need a safe and separate space to relax and have fun. The supervised Teen Center provides it, with a comfortable area to hang out, have friendly competitions, play games, watch TV and movies, and meet with mentors.

[Arts & Crafts]

ARTS & CRAFTS ROOM
The arts and crafts room will allow our children the opportunity to explore their talents. The room will be constructed with the same cinderblock interior as the rest of the building. The stained concrete floor will allow for easy cleanup of art material, etc.

LEARNING CENTER (GRADES K-4TH)
LEARNING CENTER (GRADES 5TH-8TH)

The Learning Centers are designed and equipped with support materials to assure academic success for our boys and girls. These homework areas can also be used for other projects and programs.

[Dining Area]

DINING AREA
In this designated eating area, kids can continue to watch and participate in activities located in the Game Room.

GYMNASIUM
A full-size gymnasium attached to the main building will host the Little Dribblers program, after school pickup games, along with other basketball events. Spacious and multifunctional, the gym can hold volleyball and other sports, as well as the Club's annual Steak and Burger Dinner and other fundraising activities. Concessions can be sold from the convenient kitchen area that opens to the gym. There will be restrooms, showers, lockers and dressing rooms for both boys and girls. The gym floor will be constructed out of hearty Sport Cork, a material that reduces maintenance cost.

[Natatorium]NATATORIUM
The Natatorium will make a splash in the Alice community. While outdoor pools exist, the covered, temperature-controlled natatorium offers a full year of swimming and water-related activities. The natatorium will be used for local swim team competitions, swim meets, senior citizen programs and swim lessons for all ages. The facility will generate rental revenue from the use of private parties. The pool will include:

    • 8 competitive lanes
    • A shallow area for swim lessons and rehabilitation activities
    • An area surrounding the pool for spectators/bleachers
    • Outside covered picnic area
    • Upstairs platform for time keepers/officials
    • Alarm system in pool for safety

[Covered Picnic Area]COVERED PICNIC AREA
This area will provide a shady place to eat lunch or simply gather with other team members during swim competitions. The area is easily accessible to the playground. The awning provides shade from our hot South Texas summers and a place to stay dry, but still be outside, on rainy days.

PLAYGROUND
This state-of-art playground will provide a safe place for the younger children to play and be safe.
